Abstract. The education system shapes the educational and attitudinal potential of future generations. Due to the special global and national challenges facing our country, the education system is entrusted with an extremely important mission. The issue of high-quality training of teaching staff is of paramount importance today. Becoming a teacher, developing competence and professional identity is a long process that requires the creation of special organizational and educational conditions. The study of disciplines of the psychological and pedagogical cycle, teaching methods, principal subjects at the university precedes professional pedagogical practice, which is the most important stage of teacher training. The study allows us to conclude that the system of teacher training in Russia is actively transforming. Specialists are looking for new effective practices and updating previously proven technologies and methods of work organization. An important point is the need to harmonize the form and content of training.
The responsible mission of professional teaching practice is to develop practical skills that are essential for further professional activity. A variety of practices allow to form a whole picture of the future profession, where in the process of direct immersion in teaching and learning activities students meet the professional reality as a teacher. For many of them it becomes a serious stage of rethinking their educational goals, personal qualities and life strategy. Professional and pedagogical practice vividly reveals both gaps in theoretical knowledge, unformed important skills, and problems related to personal characteristics that were not obvious to the student during the period of theory training. The experience of implementation of long-term professional pedagogical practice in Tula State Lev Tolstoy Pedagogical University helps to discover promising elements for further development of the model of quality professional pedagogical education.
