BILDLINGUISTIC APPROACH TO THE ANALYSIS OF CREOLIZED (POLYCODE) TEXTS
Abstract. The aim of this paper is to substantiate the applicability of the bildlinguistic approach to the study of creolized texts within the framework of the Russian linguistic paradigm. The study employed methods of comparative and terminological analysis. The findings demonstrate the conceptual compatibility of the Russian approach to creolized texts and bildlinguistic methodology. It is established that bildlinguistics, developing the ideas of multimodality by G. Kress and T. van Leeuwen, integrates the principles from the Russian semiotic tradition, offering a toolkit for overcoming the binary opposition of “verbal vs. non-verbal” through the concept of a triadic unity of imagery.
Keywords: bildlinguistic approach, bildlinguistics, creolized text, polycode text, multimodal text, multimodality.
