ARTISTIC IMAGE” AS A PSYCHOLOGICAL MEANS OF EVALUATING A LITERARY TEXT

Abstract. The article presents a psychological analysis of the phenomenon of mass literature from the perspective of modern literary studies and psychology. The author explores the problem of demarcation between classical and mass literature, proposing the use of the category of “artistic image” as a key means of evaluating a literary text. The article reveals the structural features of the artistic image, its multilayered nature, and its ability to activate deep psychological mechanisms of perception. Special attention is paid to the psychological differences between classical literature and mass literature in terms of meaning formation and personal development of the reader. The study is based on the works of Yu.M. Lotman and modern psychological concepts, which gives the work an interdisciplinary character.
