A STUDY OF THE FEATURES OF LIFE-MEANING ORIENTATIONS AMONG STUDENTS WITH DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS SELF-IDENTIFICATION
Abstract. The article examines religious consciousness as a phenomenon formed in the process of cultural and social socialization of the individual. The role of influencing agents in the formation and transformation of religious identity is analyzed. Special attention is given to contemporary trends observed among young people, in the context of which religion increasingly takes on an individualized form. The empirical basis of the study consists of data obtained using D.A. Leontiev’s Life-Purpose Orientations Test. The sample included three groups of students: students of a religious university who identify as believers; students at secular universities who identify as believers; and students at secular universities who do not consider themselves believers. The results show that believing students demonstrate higher scores in the dimensions of goal orientation, life satisfaction, and subjective control, which confirms the function of religious consciousness as a meaning-making resource. The study concludes that religious identity plays a significant role in structuring life orientations in the context of educational differentiation.
