<em><strong>Abstract</strong>.</em> The article discusses the psychological conditioning of verbal distortions. The author assesses the state of methodological and applied research of the problem of mental and verbal interrelation in different scientific directions. The idea of the necessity of interdisciplinary research of the discussed problem is formulated. The practical part of the article presents the results of the experimental research of adolescents’ lying. The author interprets lie as a conscious distortion of the truth, presented in the verbal form. The results of the comparative-comparative analysis of the linguistic and speech signs of the distorted (false) text depending on the author’s belonging to this or that psychotype (according to A.E. Lichko) are described.
