VIOLENCE METAPHORS IN FOOTBALL MATCH ONLINE REPORTS IN RUSSIAN

<p style=”text-align: center;”><strong>VIOLENCE METAPHORS IN FOOTBALL MATCH ONLINE REPORTS IN RUSSIAN</strong></p>
The paper focuses on special aspects of employing metaphors in football online reports in Russian. The metaphors identified are studied by means of systematization and classification. As a result, key metaphorical concepts are revealed and the number of uses of each one is indicated. The results obtained allow to elaborated on the use of metaphors for the purposes of nomination, substitution, and expression of emotions. The findings encourage further study of the language of football, discourse metaphorization, and linguistic and cultural features of Russia.
