DIGITAL DIPLOMACY IN THE MODERN COMMUNICATIVE SOCIETY

Abstract. In the modern world, the active development of social networks has led to the fact that public diplomacy has reached a new level and has begun to transform into digital diplomacy. Politicians in many countries have started actively creating accounts on social networks for faster exchange of information and expressing their opinions. Barack Obama is one of the first political figures who started using social networks for political purposes. This paper discusses the concept, origins, types, advantages and disadvantages of digital diplomacy in general, as well as Barack Obama’s digital diplomacy.
