PSYCHOTHERAPY: SPEAKING IN A COMMON LANGUAGE?

The article is devoted to the discussion of the issues of how the therapist’s speech changes the client’s mind, and the language of psychotherapy changes cultural codes of self-consciousness of entire generations. Any psychotherapeutic process is based on speech communication. In the process of communication with a psychotherapist, a client learns principles and rules of psychotherapy. Their acceptance leads to changes in a client’s mind and self- consciousness, increases his independence and ability to take responsibility for his own life and relationships with people. Questions of a psychotherapist set up for reflection and increase a degree of awareness. Each direction of psychotherapy works on the basis of its own conceptual apparatus, in the space of its own language. The client inevitably learns the language and the very structure of thinking of the psychotherapeutic direction to which he turned for help. Thanks to the wide spread of psychotherapeutic ideas, the language of psychotherapy have become a prominent and social phenomenon.
